Hello, and welcome to Podcasting Tips daily. I am completely relaunching the format of this and it is now going to be multi-format…. Which just means you will not only be able to get this as a podcast, but also as an Alexa flash briefing skill, a Facebook video AND on Instagram TV. So whatever your favourite platform is, you can easily catch a daily dose of podcasting tips.
These are going to be short and sweet daily tips to help you out, so I am going to crack straight in today, starting right at the very beginning and look at the planning process of podcasting. Let’s begin with … what should I podcast about?
Whether you are starting a new podcast or thinking about it, we will always think about, well, what it should be about. And with this the first question we should always ask is; what niche are we looking to cater for with the podcast?
In the US, niches make riches but that doesn’t work in the English accent so well — niches make riches — but the sentiment definitely still applies. If the topic you want to do your podcast about is already heavily saturated with podcasters, then; what will make you stand out?
This goes hand in hand with our second question. Why do I want to make this podcast?
This can help refocus you when you come to making decisions too, it might help you to develop your keywords, marketing, content, it will really refocus you every time you have a question.
That’s it for our quick Podcasting tip, thanks for catching up. Don’t forget you can get this as a podcast, alexa skill or by video by following me Chris Huskins on Facebook or Instagram TV.
