Hello, welcome to today’s podcasting tip. Hello if you are listening via the podcast, hey if you have me as an Alexa skill flash briefing and big wave to those watching via Facebook or Instagram TV…. Today we are going to cover; who is your target audience?
Whether you are starting a new podcast, you are on your first podcast, or you have been podcasting for ages — this question is worth regularly re-asking yourself. I do this every couple of months.
I learnt to profile audiences and customers from years in radio and the marketing industries too, the principles are no different. You draw up what’s called a persona of your listener; their name, their age, their demographic, their interests, their pain points, and their goals in life. Even draw up a picture or find one online if you are as bad at drawing as I am. You will tailor everything you do with this one person in mind, and really knowing exactly who your “avatar” persona or audience is. It will help you make many decisions in the future, whether it’s on – you’re presenting style, how to interview, your content or where to market your podcast.
You can even go as far as putting the picture of the person across from you when you are recording or when you are presenting your podcast so that you are talking to that one person as you do it
That’s it for our quick Podcasting tip, thanks for catching up. Don’t forget you can get this as a podcast, alexa skill or by video by following me Chris Huskins on Facebook or Instagram TV.
